I took the photo in the evening, outside and the tiny white dots you see are (flashed) rain drops. So if anyone can help and tell me where this cartoon come from, I'd highly appreciate it :)

L'art prend le metro - art takes the tube. The artist Victor Horta. The tube station: Horta.

There is always so much material on the art nouveau in Brussels. After numerous posts, here another example this time in another subway/ tube station in Brussels. The typical iron casts by Victor Horta were introduced in the decor of the tube station and make for an interesting eye catcher.

L'art prend le metro - art takes the tube. The artist Francoise Schein. The tube station: Parvis de Saint Gilles.

I posted on underground Brussels (so to speak) before. Here another take along the subway/tube of Brussels. The message of the art you see above: imaginary borders of all the European countries, as well as the entire text of the Human Rights Declaration (the white letters).

Btw, not many got the answer for yesterday's post, so just for info it was Italy / Sicily/ Palermo and that's what you get: a LOT of scooters.

The black lion with a red tongue and claws is the symbol on the flag of East Flanders. As Ghent is located in East Flanders, this sign was present on all street posts.

Something light for Sunday...as I am off today on a mini-holiday. We came across these fighting goats whilst visiting La Tourelle, a goats farm just outside Brussels. Besides the little show above, we bought cheese, bio flour, and a great home made pate. More on my food blog.

Continuing with ... Waterloo, at the door of the 'Bivouac de 'l'Empereur', a little restaurant near by. Nice, expensive, very touristy. However they do serve the La Waterlootoise, a Belgian Beer you won't find anywhere else.

I just could NOT resist. This post has less to do with Brussels Daily Photo and more with ... well ... the Brussels DP being slightly famous since last week. The reference expat weekly magazine, The Bulletin, has published an article on 'Blogging for Belgium'.

I very much liked this. As a statue/ work of art/ modern art is was also hidden in the back of a dead end street. So I am not sure what the purpose is for this horse and his shadow. But I do think it is perfect for Brussels DP.

This (rainy) Sunday, Boule & Bill. Created in 1959 by Jean Rouba, Boule and Bill is a cartoon series around Boule, a 7 year old boy, and Bill his faithful cocker spaniel.

Other cartoon murals in the Brussels DP Sunday series include Brousialle, Le Chat, Tintin, Monsiuer Jean, the Jeune Albert, the Feather Girl, El Scorpio, secret agent Victor Sackville , Le Passage, Quick&Flupke, Blondin & Cirage and recently Passe moi l'ciel.
