Brussels Photo: Sunday, 29 October 2006

The Sunday treat. Trust me it is just amazing for me to discover all the different cartoon walls - or murals - in Brussels.

I came across this one just yesterday (still looking for that chandelier...). It portrays Blondin & Cirage a cartoon series created by Jijé. The story of Blondin & Cirage turns around two kids, one white and one black, and was first published in 1939 in the catholic newspaper 'Petits Belges' (Little Belgians).

Other cartoon murals on Brussels Daily Photo, which I know many of you liked, were: Brousialle, Le Chat, Tintin, Monsiuer Jean, the Jeune Albert, the Feather Girl, El Scorpio, secret agent Victor Sackville , Le Passage and recently Quick&Flupke.

These murals are so well executed! Both talent and humour are delightful.

That is such a great idea! We should do something like that here -- it would catch someone's eye!
