Nasreddin Hoca

You will probably wonder just as much as I did who this gentlemen is. Walking through Schaerbeek, and by complete chance, I came across Nasreddin Hoca.

And after some research I also figured out who Nasreddin Hoca is. A satirical sufi, a wise man found in the Near and Middle East in the Middle Ages. His actions and stories are illogical yet logical, rational yet irrational, bizarre yet normal. Sort of a satirical stand up comedian in modern day terms.

Do you have a similar figure in your popular culture?

I love your photograph and the image of the person it depicts.

You asked if we have someone in our culture like him.

The only one who even comes close to this description would be George W. Bush.

He is a truly irrational, bizarre, not quite normal—sort of a satirical stand-up comedian with atomic bombs.

That is frightening.

I like your character much more.

My second episode shows the robin with her head down the baby robin's throat. It was posted this morning.

Good detail. In honor of Nasreddin Hodja, UNESCO decided to call the year 1996-1997 International Nasreddin Hodja Year.

This can't succeed as a matter of fact, that is exactly what I believe.
