Brussels Photo: Tuesday, 31 October 2006

A much bigger celebration in the USA than in Europe ... yet it seems we are catching up. Here the Halloween display at the Musée d'Art Fantastique (fantasy art). They are running a Halloween special exhibition from the 31 October to 5 November.

You are right, not that big celebration here but going up. Funny picture. I like the way that skeleton sticks the foot out of the balcony. Mr. Pumpkin looks well prepared for the feast too.

I think Halloween's popularity has fallen off in the US as well. At least with kids and parents of small children. I think popularity has fallen off due to a safety issue not a religious objection. We receive have received very few trick or treaters the last 10+ years. However we still stock up on candy just incase. The result is that the week after Halloween everyone brings candy to work to share with co-workers.

I am impressed by the Halloween displays outside the US. Denton in my neighborhood Halloween is alive and well and we seem to get more trick or treaters every year.
