As promised, the bottom half of the grafitti. I would just like to understand ... why pink pigs?!

Like everyone, I am escaping the hot city for 2 weeks of summer holidays. Given I have also just reached the 6 months milestone of the Brussels DP, I will post different pics from the archives for the time I am away. Again, all this can only happen due to the invaluable help of Denton from Greenville DP.

I have been posting for a while pictures of the wall art in Brussels. Last one was El Scorpio.

Now something a little different: the map showing you the cartoon walls trail. So far I have made it to point 9 on the map ... so look forward to next Sunday, when I will post some more on my findings. And btw, it is officially 6 months since I have the DP on Brussels :)

For three weeks an exhibition (and wine tasting) of wine barrels from the Château Puech Haut is taking place at the Chai & Bar in Brussels. I tried to take pictures of the most interesting barrels. Next the exhibition will go to Paris, New York, Monaco and then back home to Château.

Day 1 and the first stop of the mini-tour: the Museum of Musical Instruments in Brussels, the MIM. I personally think this is one of the most magnificent art nouveau buildings in Belgium.

I am sorry I end the week with such a strikingly sad picture ... I came across it on my way to work and I was just shocked by the power of this call for help.

The adds are all over the city attached to rails you can easily grip with one hand. The messages (in French and Flemish) read: the hands of under nourished children are not bigger than this. They urgently need medical assistance - Medicens Sans Frontieres

For one Sunday I will step away from the usual graffiti, and introduce to you ... Gaston Lagaffe. Started by Franquin in 1960, Gaston Lagaffe is a constant presence on the Belgian cartoon scene. I understand there is a certain particularity about the numbering of the cartoon books, yet I haven't been able to decipher it yet.
